District 86 Toastmasters Earns International Program Quality Award

Toastmasters Clubs in South-West, Central and Northern Ontario recognized for Quality every year since its inception in 2008.

BURLINGTON, Ontario - Sept. 7, 2018 - PRLog -- District 86 Toastmasters earned the Excellence in Program Quality Award for the tenth consecutive year by Toastmasters International for maintaining high educational and leadership standards in South-West, Central and Northern Ontario. The award was presented to the Toastmasters District 86 Director, Kristina Johnston by the Immediate Past International President, Toastmasters International, Balraj Arunasalam during the 2018 Toastmasters International Convention held in Illinois, Chicago, USA on August 23, 2018.

For the past ten years, District 86 Toastmasters achieved its objective of maintaining and improving the quality of over 240 clubs and the training of over 4300 toastmasters, resulting in more skilled corporate and community leaders and speakers. To receive this award, at least 50% of clubs needed to have achieved met or surpassed the minimum requirements to be recognized as "Distinguished Clubs"

According to Kristina Johnston, a Distinguished Toastmaster, "We had 125 clubs earn Distinguished status or better, the minimum required was 124", she said. "It is definitely a team effort for the District to receive this recognition for the tenth year in a row."

Arunasalam, a Distinguished Toastmaster strongly believes in club quality and membership growth "I would also like to see an increase in the depth of training provided to our district officers who deliver the Toastmasters program to clubs and members", he mentioned at the beginning of his tenure as International President. Clubs in District 86 aligned with his vision and experienced continuous quality improvement for a decade and is currently on track for growth and quality improvements this year and beyond.
