A New Pet Photo Contest Opens – With A Larger-than-Life Digital Prize

HOUSTON - Sept. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- Pet owners, rescue shelters, local groomers, and doggie day cares now have the opportunity to showcase their favorite pets in a contest that celebrates our animal companions with a larger-than-life prize…a digital billboard.

MySolasta runs weekly pet photo contests that allow members to upload a photo and invite friends, families, and clients to vote on their entry. A fun contest that gets a large number of community business owners and neighbors involved, MySolasta strives to make the morning and evening commute a little more bearable by featuring the weekly winners on a digital billboard off a major highway in Houston—with plans to expand to other cities in the future.

"The meaning of MySolasta is based on the Scottish word solasta, which means luminous or shining. Our love for our pets is something that is cross-cultural. Our whole goal is to spread the luminous joy of pet ownership and the love that our pets bring," said MySolasta President Glenn Gage. "Adding the billboard component to our contests not only sets us apart, but it allows us to spread a smile to those who need it most—people stuck in traffic!"

MySolasta's free memberships are only around for a limited time, but they are considering community sponsors to help them keep the contests free for all pet owners. With the first photo contest launching October 15 of this year – a themed contest for funny pet costumes – their weekly contests run Monday through Friday, with voting days on weekends, and a general atmosphere of celebrating the joy of pets.

"Every pet deserves a good home and someone who loves him. Because of this, we're also big supporters of ASPCA and other non-profit animal rescue groups," said Mr. Gage. MySolasta gives back to the community through ASPCA, as well as reaches out to non-profit animal rescue groups to give them the opportunity to have one of their rescue animals featured in their weekly contests.

MySolasta's membership numbers have already grown and they are actively looking for community partners that can help them keep the cost of membership low or free for all pet owners, with opportunities for sponsors to be featured on both the website and the winners' billboard.
