SANTA ANA, Calif. - Sept. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and the Inland Empire today announced that its board of directors has appointed Sloane Keane as chief executive officer of the youth mentoring organization.

"The selection process for the new chief executive was given thoughtful consideration. Sloane is a strong leader whose talent and energy will continue to drive Big Brothers Big Sisters forward in its next chapter," said Todd Pickup, chair of the Big Brothers Big Sisters board of directors. "Sloane's ability to connect people to the organization's vision, as well as her dedication to fiscal responsibility and passion for mentoring, will be instrumental in moving the needle for children across our three counties."

Keane joined Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2013 as director of development, playing a key role in tripling the operating budget from $2.6 million to over $8 million. In her most recent position as chief development officer, she helped establish financial stability for the organization and steer new funding strategies. During Keane's tenure leading the development team, Big Brothers Big Sisters ran a capital campaign to purchase a 52,000-square-foot building, moved company headquarters to the new office in Santa Ana and seed-funded an endowment fund to invest in the agency's long-term future. Her efforts have supported ongoing growth in serving more than 3,500 youth across Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties with quality mentoring relationships.

"My journey with Big Brothers Big Sisters began through the front door as a volunteer and it's an experience that has forever impacted my life. I am excited and humbled to lead an agency that is committed to affecting change in this community by igniting the potential of children, our most precious resource," said Keane. "The opportunities that lie ahead for the organization are tremendous. I am focused on accelerating the innovation of programs, strengthening our dynamic company culture and managing a scalable budget that will ensure our ability to create meaningful mentoring relationships for many years to come."

Keane has two decades of experience directing growth in business development, marketing and media sales for companies across the country, including the Discovery Channel and Orange County Register. Raised in Orange County, Keane graduated from Pennsylvania State University and currently lives in Newport Beach.

Taking the helm of Big Brothers Big Sisters in its 60th year, Keane will continue the agency's forward trajectory in creating a long-term, generational impact for youth facing adversity.

Together with the Inland Empire agency, which opened its doors in 2013, the local organization annually serves more than 3,500 children annually through programs that help youth avoid gang violence and substance abuse while working toward high school graduation and long-term, sustainable independence.
