DUBLIN 8, Ireland - Sept. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- The Thought Leadership Board for the European Supply Chain Institute (ESCI) 'Blockchain the Supply Chain' program is pleased to welcome Everledger Founder & CEO Leanne Kemp as part of the Board.

' (http://escinst.org/block-chain/)Blockchain the Supply Chain' (http://escinst.org/block-chain/)is the body set up by the ESCI with the mission to educate their members and the wider supply chain community and promote the applications of blockchain technology to supply chain processes. Blockchain has been seen to promise the delivery of more visibility, provenance and proof of ownership throughout the extended supply chain. This will enable enhanced collaboration between all trading partners in the network.

The Board comprises of leaders in their respective fields with a deep understanding of the complexities both regulatory and commercial that need to be considered when deploying technology in organisations. They will add valuable insight and knowledge of blockchain applications for the benefit of the global supply chain.

"Without a doubt, the emergence of Blockchain is very exciting and promises to transform the supply chain and how all trading partners collaborate globally. The quest for visibility means that the supply chain is an ideal industry for Blockchain due to the sheer number of partners and suppliers involved in a multinational supply chain who must collaborate to manufacture and distribute products." states John Connors, Director & Blockchain Lead at ESCI.

Everledger Founder & CEO Leanne Kemp says, "Everledger has pioneered the application of blockchain to drive transparency along supply chains in many industries. Joining the ESCI Thought Leadership Board is a natural extension of our mission to harness emerging technologies to create ecosystems of trust, by bringing disparate supply chain stakeholders together through use of blockchain."

"I strongly believe in the major positive impact that this program will bring to businesses as we work together to educate the supply chain community and facilitate more efficient, transparent and collaborative business models."

Much of the blockchain information available today is technical rather than application focused and does not recognise the fact that different industries will approach and engage with blockchain in different ways.

This is especially true of the supply chain where data governance and compliance issues are particularly important as organisations operate in diverse locations globally.

'Blockchain the Supply Chain' aims to address the information requirements of the supply chain in regards to the applications of blockchain and how it can be deployed.
