CDI'S WILD FAITH rides into Burbank!
LANSING, Mich. - Sept. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- The Michigan-based feature film production company, Collective Development Incorporated (CDI), is thrilled that it's latest theatrical release 'Wild Faith' continues to connect with audiences of all ages, even prior to the DVD and streaming outlet release now in negotiations.

On Sept. 8 (Saturday, 1:30 p.m.) the film will screen in its West Coast Premiere at the world's entertainment capitol via the 10th Annual Burbank International Film Festival.

And the 'Official Selection' for one of Michigan's most prolific and highly respected production companies, already an award-winner at a major international film festival, is nominated for more honors.

The lead actors in 'Wild Faith,' Shane Hagedorn and Lauren LaStrada, are up for Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, while the film, written by DJ Perry (who Co-Stars) and directed by Jesse Low, is among Best Picture nominees.

Ms. LaStrada (Haddie), Mr. Hagedorn (Emmett) and Mr. Low were nominated for honors at the International Christian Film Festival (ICFF) in Orlando, Fla. (the largest faith film and music festival in the world, considered the Oscars of the faith film industry and the only festival of its kind which screens at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival). Ms. LaStrada, a Detroiter, won Best Actress, while the film was runner-up for Best Picture.

And coincidentally, in a show of the strength and value to a wide-ranging demographic for its work, another of CDI's films, the second installment in The Quest Trilogy, 'Chasing the Star,' was nominated for Best Picture and actor Garry Nation was nominated for Best Actor. In all, CDI was nominated for nine awards, including a Best Music nod for longtime friend and collaborator of CDI, composer Dennis Therrian.

A large contingent of CDI's circle of artists, who've affectionately become known as 'The Tribe,' will be on hand for the Saturday screening and a Q&A to follow at the AMC Burbank 16 downtown. 'Wild Faith' has played in major theater chains throughout Michigan and in Florida to sellout audiences and critical acclaim from reviewers.

More than 200 feature and short films representing 60 countries will be presented during the five-day festival (Sept. 5-9) and it is an achievement to be an 'Official Selection' in such a prestigious event.

"Collective Development Inc. (www.cdiproductions.com) is proud to be bringing our Michigan-based story to the West Coast. If ever there was a time for a movie like Wild Faith, it's now. I think audiences need a wholesome film (and possibly TV series) like this to highlight important discussions happening in our society."
- DJ Perry, writer, producer, co-star

'Wild Faith' is a racially-charged, socially-challenging parable as relevant today as it was post-Civil War and thru the Jim Crow era. Elements of war, greed, hatred, racism, prejudice, bigotry and religious zealotry all play out as the story unfolds. But while 'Wild Faith' is a story of many layers, there is one consant theme. Humanity. The film devoid of politics, speaks to truth and love, with thought at its core. The belief that there is a path to righteousness for all human beings. If they choose it.

In the late 1800s a Civil War Union veteran (Hagedorn) is compelled to keep a promise to a dying black soldier who saved his life. Go back to Michigan and protect the soldier's wife and young daughter, thus creating an interracial family, much to the chagrin of his unforgiving neighbors.

But the arrival of a traveling circus train changes everything. And incites the most unlikely set of events that will push everyone to the limits.

Magnificently shot by Director of Photography Jesse Aragon, 'Wild Faith' continues to move the bar of independent filmmaking excellence for CDI with the talent of many artists, led by longtime 'Tribe' members (actors, producers, directors, writers), Anthony Hornus, Dean Teaster, Melissa Anschutz and David Gries.

Other forthcoming Collective Development Inc. films include the third installment of The Quest Trilogy, 'The Christ Slayer,' is scheduled for a 3/4/19 DVD release after a limited theatrical, while the recently filmed drama 'MBF' (Man's Best Friend) is due out in Summer 2019.
