Islamic Leadership Institute of America Launches Greenbelt, Maryland Chapter

GREENBELT, Md. - Sept. 4, 2018 - PRLog -- Founded almost decade age in 2009 / 1430 AH in Ellicott City, Maryland, Islamic Leadership Institute of America (ILIA) has offered educational programs  to more than 2200 youth across seven states. "Most of our students come from Prince George's County, so it only makes sense to start a chapter in that part of Maryland", states Ayman Nassar, ILIA Founder and Chair of the Board of Directors.

The project has been kicked-off by the ILIA Youth Council in July. One of the projects tasked by Youth Council member Abdullah Matar has been to locate a suitable site for the organization in Prince George's County to serve the youth in the area between Largo and Burtonsville. After analyzing several locations Matar presented to the Youth Council possible locations, and the council selected the Greenbelt site, which is near the Greenbelt Metro Station.

The Greenbelt location will offer workshops for adults in the areas of parenting and family leadership, while youth workshops will evolve around character building, college readiness, school empowerment, career development, and leadership training.

ILIA will also extend its EmpowerOne coaching program to teens, young adults, and working professionals, as well as its Mission Excellence tutoring program and Youth Crisis Line (443-429-0095) services at the Greenbelt Chapter.

The youth development organization is holding an inaugural event on Sunday Sept 16th, 2018 at 1:00 PM for youth and adults. There will be complimentary snacks and short  discussions on contemporary issues that ILIA aims to help parents and youth resolve.
