Bubbly Brown Sugar Launches on Indiegogo

NEW YORK - Aug. 29, 2018 - PRLog -- Bubbly Brown Sugar is a web series that affirms that a magical love story isn't reserved for the likes of the Obamas and that a happily ever after is the norm for people of color – has launched on Indiegogo.

Do Black people know how to love? Do they get married? Of course, we do, and it is important to see that represented on the screen. There are a plethora of tv programs that suggest there black men aren't available for marriage; a ton of black movies that showcase toxic and dysfunctional relationships; and let's not get started on the barrage of messaging that perpetuate the unlikelihood for finding a suitable mate for the single black female.

Created by Black-American writer/producer/actress Tamala Baldwin, Bubbly Brown Sugar is a hilarious and modern fairytale that explores what we encounter on our often-difficult journey to our receiving our heart's highest desires. The show teaches the importance of mastering your thoughts, words and actions so that you can create and ultimately receive the experience you truly want. Bubbly Brown Sugar not only shows Black and Brown people experiencing their happily ever after, but also includes major themes that center around spirituality, entrepreneurship, friendship, and forgiveness. The series will be directed by shot by Japanese Netflix Original Series cinematographer, Koshi Kiyokawa.

This diverse and inclusive show has cast and crew members who identify as Asian, Black, Latinx, White, queer, and immigrant. Bubbly Brown Sugar seeks to raise $40,000 to begin filming its first season in October this fall. It is fundraising through Indiegogo from now until October 2, 2018.

In exchange for pledging to the project, backers  can gain access to a variety of rewards including a digital copy of Bubbly Brown Sugar and all fully-funded episodes for $25, custom artwork and swag at $50 and more.
