After Jud Teague, Visit Kingsport Executive Director, unveiled Kingsport's intention to build a Miracle League Baseball Field at Brickyard Park at last Friday morning's Chamber meeting, Bellafina Chocolates began planning to support this exciting venture by donating all profits from corporate gift orders in the month of September towards the field.

The Miracle League is about removing barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and letting them experience the joy of America's favorite pastime. It's not just the smell of popcorn, the cheers of parents and peers, or the sound of the crack of bat against ball. It's more than that. It's building relationships. It's having fun with teammates. It's participating as an athlete in the game. It's building self esteem and being treated just like anyone else.

"The need for this type of facility is long overdue for our region." says Jud Teague. "A custom designed field incorporates a cushioned, rubberized turf that allows children in wheelchairs, walkers and other physical limitations, to glide or run unrestricted to their positions without fear of injury. It will provide a level playing field where children with disabilities can hit, run, and catch – just like everyone else."

During the entire month of September, Bellafina Chocolates will offer free custom package artwork for any corporate Christmas gift orders placed and will donate 100% of the profits for all undesignated corporate gift orders to the Miracle League Field. The company will also donate profits from all sales during downtown Kingsport's First Thursday Sip & Stroll event on September 6.
