DCI has a long-standing relationship with the Pike County community, and has offered life sustaining hemodialysis treatment since 1989 within the Pike County Hospital.
"We are delighted to be able to offer our dialysis patients a new building that we believe will improve the patient experience,"
The recently built facility began serving patients on July 18th, 2018. The new facility offers an accessible entrance and a modern atmosphere. Each patient station has its own flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi access, and new heated dialysis chairs.
"Everything is new inside the DCI Bowling Green facility, except the staff," said Smith. "The staff has a combined 40+ years of dialysis experience."
The open house is an opportunity for the community to meet the clinic nursing staff, technical staff, dietitian, and social worker. In addition, the medical director for the clinic, Prashanth Podaralla, M.D., will be in attendance along with representatives from the DCI corporate office.
"We have come a long way with dialysis services in Pike County since 1989. We are pleased to be offering all treatment options: hemodialysis, and home dialysis training for peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis to accommodate our kidney patients' needs," says Dr. Podaralla.
DCI Bowling Green is welcoming new patients and also welcomes patients traveling to the area who may need transient dialysis services. The 11-station facility offers in-center hemodialysis on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Home therapy trainings are offered Monday through Friday.
