Local Wichita, KS Business Supports National Waterski Event

Acumen Connections Inc. joins other Wichita Metro Area businesses in sponsorship of local sporting event.

WICHITA, Kan. - Aug. 24, 2018 - PRLog -- During the week of August 7 – 11, 2018, residents of the Mystic Lakes neighborhood, home to Mystic Lakes Ski Club, had an influx of visitors. Competitors and fans alike came from all over the country to take part in the GOODE USA Waterski National Championships hosted by the Mystic Lakes Ski Club and the American Water Ski Association.

Mystic Lakes is located in Maize, KS and boasts two world-class water ski lakes that have hosted a multitude of other water ski events including; Midwest Regional Championship, Junior US Open Water Ski Championships and the Barefoot Water Ski Nationals.

Throughout the week, attendees could admire some of the country's most talented water skiers and even some world record holders across many events and age groups. At a low admission cost of only $10 per car, the event had a substantial turnout that pleased both the hosts and sponsors.

Sponsor Brian J. Staver commented, "The 2018 Goode Water Ski National Championships was a huge success. We had a record turnout with impeccable weather."

The pinnacle of the week's activities was the inaugural America's Cup Invitational that took place on Friday, August 10th at Mystic Lakes. Athletes that qualified for the Open Division in their respective events were invited to participate in the America's Cup event, which included a cash prize purse of $40,000. Events included; women's tricks, men's tricks, women's slalom, men's slalom, women's jumping and men's jumping.

As a local business and friend to the community, Acumen Connections Inc. was one of many businesses who sponsored the event. Owner, Brian J. Staver and long-time Acumen alum, Craig Walker walked around the event on Friday night speaking with attendees and passing out complimentary koozies.

"It was quite impressive to see the nation's top skiers here in the Wichita area. We had a lot of great response from both skiers and spectators.," continued Staver.

This isn't the first time this year that Acumen Connections, Inc. has participated in sponsoring local events. As an active member of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, Acumen sponsored a hole at the Annual Chamber Golf Classic hosted at Crestview Country Club on June 4, 2018.

Acumen Connections, Inc. specializes in payment processing for businesses, but after a recent acquisition by local businessman, Brian J. Staver, the company is turning more focus on how they can help make the most impact with their customers, starting with an emphasis on the Wichita Metro business community.

"My drive is to help people. The initiative for Acumen isn't to set up a terminal and then only talk to customers once a year. We are working to become a resource for local businesses, starting with our customers," stated Staver.

Acumen Connections, Inc. has plans on becoming more involved in the community as they continue to focus on local businesses.

"I had a great time at the event, and it was great to speak with attendees from both the Wichita Metro and surrounding areas. We live in an awesome community that I'm proud to be a part of," finalized Staver.

A business that's focused on the local economy and events is definitely a positive thing! See what is happening at Acumen Connections, Inc. by viewing their website, https://www.acumenconnections.com/
