Outpatient Addiction Treatment Center OpeningThe St. Kolbe-Puckett Center for Healing is opening its doors on September 5 to offer outpatient addiction treatment to local residents.
Opening September 5, the St. Kolbe-Puckett Center for Healing (St. Kolbe-Puckett) On an appointment basis, center staff will distribute buprenorphine to patients requiring medication-assisted treatment. In addition, support groups and meditation courses will be offered on a weekly basis. St. Kolbe-Puckett representatives have also partnered with Assisted Recovery Centers of America. They are currently planning ways in which to offer telehealth to clinic patients in the near future. While the downtown location of the center originally concerned business owners and nearby residents, their worries were soon assuaged. The center should be a welcome resource to the community. Buchanan County, where St. Joseph is located, only has a handful of addiction treatment services, according to the Addiction Policy Forum's Addiction Resource Center database. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) reported that more than 950 opioid-related drug overdose deaths occurred last year in the state.
