What a delightfully sweet read! Even though our girls are older, they still loved this wholesome, kindhearted book. Before you finish the first page you will fall in love with Harley, the adorable kitten of the Ozark Mountains.

The colors in the illustrations are bright and cheerful drawing you right into this Homestead life. Each animal is artfully described and illustrated; allowing great fun for even the youngest readers as they begin to identify the characters. Older readers will notice how each character builds upon the life and surroundings of wooded homestead life.

This would be a wonderful addition to anyone's collection, especially those who share homestead and/or Ozark dreams, or memories. It would be a fantastic unit study, or Five in a Row lesson for homeschooling or classroom use.

I loved this sweet story about Harley the kitten. It is heartwarming and speaks volumes by demonstrating the easy way of life and friendly attitude of all the other critters on the farm towards a new inhabitant. A perfect example for children to learn how to welcome and accept others into their environment. The illustrations were so sweet also - a great book and story for anyone to read.
