Beacon Media + Marketing Announces Website Updates, Calls for Social Media Campaign Nominees
Website changes highlight the marketing agency's robust portfolio, in-house training opportunities, and #ShineYourLight, a unique social media campaign for non-profits and individuals who are making a difference in Alaska.
Just a few, short months ago, Beacon VP of Sales and Marketing Jennifer Christensen started to notice a change, "We are receiving an increased number of both local and national sales leads from our website," she announced to the team in one of their daily, morning Huddle meetings, "They're coming from our blogs. It makes sense. We published those blogs years ago with the goal of increasing web traffic over time. Now, those years have passed and we are beginning to see a return on investment. Inbound works."
Over the years, Beacon has grown and changed to focus on the industries it serves best and the products that work for them, a result of the strong but nimble business model founders Wilkerson and Christensen put into place from the very beginning. Agility and adaptability are some of the agency's core values. When the web traffic increased, Christensen set a plan in motion to update and adapt the website to better reflect Beacon's growth.
The home page of BeaconMM.com now features the local and national logos of "A few of the companies we've helped grow," as the website says, showing visitors the credibility of the agency from the moment they land on the site. The primary menu now shows a "Training" tab with links to speaker bios for founders Wilkerson and Christensen including information on their new book, Digital Marketing Roadmap: An Inbound Guide for the Busy Entrepreneur, with the goals of highlighting the agency's thought leadership as well as landing more speaking events. Finally, the agency's online portfolio (under "Our Work") now displays powerful data on past and current projects, such as "increased clients by 34%," data from social media work done for Beacon client Brooklyn Birthing Center.
The menu also now features a tab for the company's social media marketing campaign launched last December, "#ShineYourLight." "At the tail end of a battle-weary 2017, when much of the world was growing tired of the neverending negativity spreading online, we decided it was time to make a move for change!" the website says, "Our brainchild was #ShineYourLight, an opportunity to put a spotlight on the many and the humble who are out there doing good for our hometown!" Through #ShineYourLight, Beacon offers a free blog post and social media shout-out to local non-profits and cause-minded individuals throughout Anchorage. With the recent changes, anyone who visits BeaconMM.com can now nominate someone for the campaign!
"We are very excited about the changes and we can't wait to see what they do for our numbers!" Christensen says. Beacon has already received positive feedback on the look, feel, and user experience of their updated website.
