United Premier Soccer League Announces Union Futbol Club as Southeast Conference Expansion Team
Founded in 2016, Monroe (N.C.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSL
Based in Monroe (N.C.), Union Futbol Club begins UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic Division, and will host its home games at Jesse Helms Soccer Complex (1505 Summerlin Dairy Road, Monroe, NC 28112) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.
United Premier Soccer League Southeast Conference Manager Andy Salandy said, "We welcome Union FC to the UPSL Mid-Atlantic Conference. They are a good side with good ownership that wants the best for the young men in their community. The club is competitive and will be a good addition. We wish Union FC the best of luck this season."
Bryan Ramoutar is Owner and Head Coach of Union Futbol Club. A native of Trinidad & Tobago, Ramoutar was a professional player in Venezuela, Trinidad and England with Bradford City FC and Portsmouth FC.
Ramoutar is a long-time coach and currently holds a FIFA Youth Coach's Certificate and English FA 'Level 2' Coaching License, among many others.
Union Futbol Club Owner and Head Coach Bryan Ramoutar said, "Joining the UPSL will not only provide our senior players the opportunity to play in a league which is thoughtfully designed to enhance the game here in the U.S., but to also provide a true sense of competitiveness and professionalism similar to Union FC's intent. We're reaching out to the grass-root communities and areas other leagues simply do not, giving everyone here a true chance of participation and providing more opportunities for the players who may never be seen or considered for national team selection or even participate at the international club level."
Union Youth Futbol Club currently features a number of competitive circuit teams for boys and girls around Charlotte, N.C., and the surrounding areas.
The club is hosting tryouts from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 20, 22 and 24 at Union County Recreational Complex (3315 Faith Church Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079), and soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.

Founded in 2016, Union Futbol Club can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 200 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 300-plus teams targeted for 2018 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
