Substance Abuse Treatment Center Coming Soon

CALVERTON, N.Y. - Aug. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- A new inpatient substance abuse treatment center is being built to serve the local community.

Northwell Health will operate the center currently being developed by Engel Burman Group. The center, known as the Wellbridge Residential Substance-Abuse Research and Treatment Campus, will pair holistic addiction treatment with research.

The Riverhead Town Board recently gave approval for construction to begin. Northwell Health representatives estimate the center will be completed in late 2019 or early 2020 and will cost approximately $90 million.

Wellbridge will be able to treat up to 80 patients at a time. Services offered will include drug detoxification, art therapy, counseling and aftercare services.

In addition to monitoring how physical activity may benefit addiction recovery, onsite researchers will follow up with participants to determine treatment efficacy. They will use results to develop alternative treatment methods.

In addition, Wellbridge will offer a 24/7 online platform to connect patients with recovery coaches and counselors.

Engel Burman Group and Northwell Health plan on opening outpatients services in other New York counties in the near future.
