Baby K'tan, LLC Continues Philanthropic Efforts
By: Baby K'tan, LLC
The Florida based juvenile products brand donated over 2,000 units of their infant baby carriers and over 1,200 units of their original diaper bag to the GOOD+ Foundation. The single contribution had a total value of over $130,000, far surpassing previous donations made by the family-owned company.
"GOOD+ Foundation is so grateful to Baby K'tan for its generous donation of carriers," said Katherine Snider, Executive Director of GOOD+ Foundation. "These carriers will allow thousands of mothers and fathers to transport their little ones with ease to daycare, doctor appointments or shopping and on public transportation. This is an incredible gift to parents who are struggling to make ends meet that will provide for the health and safety of their children."
GOOD+ Foundation has offices and warehouses in New York and Los Angeles and strategically distributes over $6 million worth of goods each year to families in marginalized communities across the country. In 2017, 90 cents of every dollar donated went directly back into GOOD+ programs. The organization has a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator—the highest rating possible—as well as accreditation by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance for transparency, efficiency and operations.
The recent donation continues an almost decade long partnership between the two organizations. In 2017, Baby K'tan, LLC donated over 600 diapers bags to the non-profit, and in 2010 over 100 baby carriers.
"Having worked with GOOD+ Foundation in the past, we knew that their strong distribution and volunteer network would get our baby carriers into the hands of parents in need," says Tali Scheer, VP of Marketing at Baby K'tan. "We want every parent to have access to safe and simple baby carriers, and we love working with GOOD+ Foundation to help accomplish that goal."
In addition to their donations to GOOD+ Foundation, Baby K'tan, LLC devotes a percentage of its proceeds to the American Heart Association and the National Down Syndrome Society. The company has also made charitable contributions to organizations such as ICU Baby, Sacramento Pouch Project and more, and empowers their employees to give back by organizing annual team volunteer programs.
About GOOD+ Foundation
GOOD+ Foundation empowers fathers and families in marginalized communities with the education and training they need to build a better life. With an early focus on mothers and children, GOOD+ expanded its programming in 2010 to strengthen its support for non-custodial and formerly incarcerated fathers to address one of the root causes of cyclical poverty: father absence. Today, the organization partners with a national network of social service programs to pair goods—such as cribs, car seats, and diapers—with life skills training, employment assistance, financial literacy and co-parenting classes. By giving fathers tools, dignity and opportunities to re-engage with their family, GOOD+ is improving outcomes for children.
Since increasing its investment in fatherhood, GOOD+ has provided support to more than 25,000 fathers in cities including Baltimore, Houston, New York and Los Angeles. As a result, mothers are getting the support they need, children are getting access to their fathers, and fathers are learning how to become dads.
