Are you one of the 40% of the UK too lazy to do THIS daily? Educogym Moorgate discuss

Recent studies have revealed that 40% of participants in a study are too lazy to walk anywhere a mile away or more. Educogym Moorgate discuss this shocking result

CANARY WHARF, U.K. - Aug. 16, 2018 - PRLog -- The study found that 40% of 2000 participants would not be willing to walk more than a mile to get somewhere, that a shocking 74% wouldn't walk anywhere if it was raining, and a further 4 out of 10 would take a lift rather than one flight of stairs. "These statistics are shocking, of course the country is aware of our obesity epidemic, but to find out just how lazy a portion of the UK have become really does make you think. Being a part of the team at educogym Moorgate, and being a personal trainer, means that we are all far from lazy, and promote active healthy lifestyles, skipping a flight of stairs and taking a lift is just extreme, even after a leg session at educogym!" stated Sanj Bains, educogym Moorgate personal trainer.

The current daily recommendation from the NHS is to walk 10,000 steps a day, around 75% of the UK feel they should walk more, and this is proven as a fact as the average brit does around 5,000 steps a day, half of the recommended amount. "10,000 steps is about 5 miles, its not a huge task, a walk to the station in the morning, walking around the office or your place of work, walk to get lunch and back, walk home, walking in the gym, and if you still feel you are behind get off a stop earlier on your way home, it isn't hard to hit this target. The main problem is excuses, and clearly from this study excuses like 'its raining' is a common reason to jump in a car" confirmed Godfrey Nurse a personal trainer at educogym Moorgate.

But why has the nation become so lazy? "It isn't tough to work out, we have access to so many modes of transport that don't involve moving, from taxis and systems like uber that makes getting a taxi easier than ever, buses, trains and in London the underground and the Crossrail which is on the way, and in a country like the UK that is usually full of rain, people opt for the dry easy option rather than a walk or a cycle" explained Sanj Bains a personal trainer at educogym Moorgate.

The government have rolled out plenty of schemes, and so have companies, the more recent Santander bikes, where you can hire a bike from most public places there and then, are all over London, and OFO a second bicycle hire app. "In London, in particular in the areas surrounding educogym Moorgate like Liverpool street and Bank, we have huge access to bicycle lanes, not long ago massive changes were made to London roads to include a huge bicycle highway through London to encourage people to get moving and to reduce emissions and traffic, it has helped, the bicycle highway is very busy in rush hour, however compared to the amount of people in London it isn't a large percentage" discussed Godfrey Nurse an educogym Moorgate personal trainer.
