By: Executive Presence
"This 'Executive Presence' event is designed for like-minded women," states co-founder Donna Ewers,Business Development Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol, Connecticut, "who want to explore how to consistently present themselves in the workplace, and how to feel authentic, confident and powerful in their presence to match their expertise, style and personal brand."
"People make assessments in the first few seconds of seeing one another. These assessments go beyond how well a person is dressed. The August 23rd program is not about being a fashionista, rather it is about understanding the psychology and importance of first impressions, perceptions, and knowing what a woman is saying with her presentation. We are all selling, be it a service or a product. How we present ourselves is the start to this process.
Members of the "Executive Presence" Executive Committee span five generations. These professional women have created an event to help other business women, including entrepreneurial women, focus on the importance of personal image presentation in every stage of their career from the interview, the first job, the promotion, the meeting presentation, and career changes.
Amy Hudak of Connecticut's Channel 8 and an Executive Committee member at large will MC the event which will include a presentation on "Can Non-verbal Communication Affect Your Career?", fashion designer Nora Gardner will participate in an interactive panel discussion titled, "Tailor Your Look and Creating Your Own Wardrobe Story". Entry to the event will include lunch, happy hour, raffle prizes and the collective energy of amazing women.
Net proceeds from "Executive Presence" will be donated to "Dress For Success". Ewers commented, "This non-profit organization is the perfect fit for our ambitions because it is founded on the premise of women helping women move forward. We are also collaborating with Family Promise, a transitional shelter for homeless families located in New Britain. Our Executive Committee, and Mia Rella, of Merrill Lynch, The Manasevit Group, are also sponsoring three women from Family Promise to attend the event, and Dress For Success will help them with their presence."
The inaugural "Executive Presence" event is being hosted by DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton Bristol. It is being sponsored by The Town and County Club; Merrill Lynch, The Manasevit Group; John Hancock; Bob Gemmis' Connecticut Clothing Company; Sandler Training; A Wardrobe Story; Aurora Consulting; DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol and The Farmington Chamber of Commerce.
