Luke's upcoming release, How the Dog Saved the Squirrel from the Hawk, is aimed at middle grade readers and follows the story of a squirrel named Sam. Sam causes trouble for the dog on guard duty. When the hawk drops by to pay a visit, things turn screwy for the red squirrel.

Early reviews of How the Dog Saved the Squirrel from the Hawk label the tale as vivid, heartening, and filled with lessons of family and friendship. When asked about her inspiration for the tale, Luke responded, "A good story is based on truth, and with the pleasure of experiencing nature first hand in my own backyard, I've seen the miraculous: how three unlikely animals come together."

Luke's How the Dog Saved the Squirrel from the Hawk is scheduled for release in late August, 2018.
