Local Author, Kimberly King, Nominated for Global Award

NORWALK, Conn. - Aug. 8, 2018 - PRLog -- When Your Parents Divorce, written by Kimberly King, former Norwalk resident, has been nominated for a 2018 Author Academy Award, an honor bestowed for literary merit and publishing excellence in the writing and publishing industry.

King's book is up for an award in the Favorite Children's Book category. When Your Parents Divorce, a kid-to-kid guide to dealing with divorce is a book for children and parents to help them learn to understand and cope with the challenges of a divorce in a less-stressful, collaborative way.

According to Dr. Jeffrey Zimmerman, Ph.D. Psychologist and co-author of The Co-Parenting Survival Guide: Letting Go of Conflict After a Difficult Divorce, "Using authentic straight talk Kimberly King has a unique way of weaving the issues and feelings children often experience into a supportive, easy to read book. In a very special way, this book puts divorce into a compassionate framework which lets your children know the very important message that they can get through the difficult experience of their parents' divorce, while continuing to be a family."

Authors of all kinds—indie (self-published), traditional, or collaborative published—are being considered for the award in one of sixteen categories. Entries are being reviewed and evaluated on popular vote, social contribution, and overall presentation (cover, content, flow, and originality) by the Academy's voting membership comprised of best-selling authors, literary agents and industry leaders.
The top ten finalists in each category will be invited to present their book synopsis at an Author Academy Awards Red Carpet Session on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, in Columbus, Ohio. Winners will be announced later that evening at the Author Academy Awards Ceremony where they will be invited to give an acceptance speech.
