PRLog -- Business owner and Candidate for State Senate Erin Calvo-Bacci was invited to speak at Girl's Inc. about being a woman in business. The discussion was an opportunity to share a brief summery about her job as owner of CB Stuffer and former owner of The Chocolate Truffle. Calvo-
Bacci shared she is a graduated of Reading Memorial High School, was accepted into a four year nursing program, but difficulty with test taking back when there weren't any accommodations was discouraging so she left nursing and went to Middlesex Community College and then transferred to UMass Lowell. "I paid for my education by working full time in retail which meant the hours I needed to work weren't always available so I had to work a few jobs, but I paid close attention at each place especially to their business model and marketing plan all which I've applied to my own business." Calvo-
Bacci took over The Chocolate Truffle in 2003 and then launched their manufacturing division in 2007 just after the birth of their third daughter. She shared how being a working mother is a challenge and childcare is expensive, "it's a balancing act with a lot of sacrifice and stress." Girl's Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold through direct service and advocacy. "The girls were so great and enthusiastic!
Girl's Inc. is such an amazing organization. As a mother of three girls I was especially honored to speak before them as a role model telling a real life story and encouraging them to lean in and make a difference."
