Music by DJ iSM, BELLY DANCING BY JUDY HANNA, LIVE Painting Performance by artist LATOYA MARLIN, Spoken Word Performances by CREATIVE GODDESSES, The all-woman art show explores the complexities of female identity through reflection on the sacred, the spiritual, myth, mystery, folklore, and societal behaviors. Enjoy an Exciting Event Featuring Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Mixed Media, Collage, Mosaic, Printmaking, Assemblage, Portraiture, Installation, Spoken Word, Recitation, Poetry. This presentation is an unforgettable showcase celebrating the joy and empowerment of being a woman. PARTICIPATING ARTISTS INCLUDE: Amanda Doty Al-Shaikhali, Tasha Beckwith, Lydia Burris, Donna Cook-Smith, D. Del Reverda-Jennings, Leena Dobouni, Andrea Dudgeon, Mirvia Sol Eckert, Eve V. Guests can also tour Indiana Landmarks Center at 1201 Central Avenue in Indianapolis. Built as a Methodist church in the nineteenth century, the restored and adapted structure holds theaters and a reception hall in addition to the gallery and Indiana Landmarks' headquarters. Free Admission...Open to the Public! ABOUT LATOYA MARLIN: Visual artist. Marlin's paintings are small fragments and pieces of herself, vibrant bright colors, displays of love, friendship and sisterhood. It pushes and speaks for all women to be individuals and to love the skin that they are in. Her artworks are all about self-love. She studied art and photography at Arsenal Technical H.S. in Indianapolis, IN., and also while attending Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and comes from a family of artists. Judy Hanna, is an authentic Middle Eastern belly dancer as she is of Lebanese heritage and one of the only authentic belly dancing instructors in the Indianapolis area. Ms. Hanna, has been teaching dance for over thirty years in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas and has facilitated belly dancing workshops in Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Las Vegas and Mexico. This awesome Creative Goddess has a dance troupe called "The Mid-West Bellydancing Superstars" and they dance for all types of festivals, State Fairs, Flea Markets, luaus, parties and special events.
