KETCHIKAN, Alaska - July 29, 2018 - PRLog -- "Can a Cookie Change the World?" written by Rhonda Bolling has been nominated for a 2018 Author Academy Award, an honor bestowed for literary merit and publishing excellence in the writing and publishing industry.

Bolling's book is up for an award in the Children's Books category.  Offering hope and inspiring kindness, generosity and teamwork, this is a true story about a big-hearted, young girl who took a simple idea and helped others in need, making a huge impact in her remote Alaskan town.

Thirty-five (35) percent of the net proceeds from sales of the book will be given to ALS-TDI to help find a cure for.  Another 35% of the proceeds will stay in Ketchikan with Tessa's "Kids' Cookies for a Cause" for whatever cause she chooses each year.  Check out the Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/KidsCookiesForACause/

This is Bolling's second published book.  She has also helped two other authors publish their works:  Barbara Kimball's "After Midnight Meditations," and M.T. Cobblepott's (aka Suzan Thompson) "The Day the Pudding Got Away."  All can be easily found with an online search or on shelves in several local Ketchikan stores.  More info is available at www.rhondabolling.com.

"Hundreds of books from authors throughout the world are up for an Author Academy Award," said Kary Oberbrunner, founder of Author Academy Elite and the Author Academy Awards. "Our goal is to help further connect this global community of authors, maintain excellence and integrity of the book publishing industry, and raise awareness that the stories being told and the authors who write them are worth our attention."

Authors of all kinds—indie (self-published), traditional, or collaborative published—are being considered for the award in one of sixteen categories. Entries are being reviewed and evaluated on popular vote, social contribution, and overall presentation (cover, content, flow, and originality) by the Academy's voting membership comprised of best-selling authors, literary agents, and industry leaders.

If interested in supporting Bolling and participating in the popular vote portion of the award evaluation, go to http://authoracademyawards.com/ and scroll to the "Ready to Vote?" section. Once there, click through to Section 13, Children's Books category, then find and click on "Can a Cookie Change the World?"  Voting ends August 1, 2018.

The top ten finalists in each category will be invited to present their book synopsis at an Author Academy Awards Red Carpet Session on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, in Columbus, Ohio.
