Retired Lockheed Martin Engineer from California Wins The Challenger Dream Giveaway!
By: New Beginning Children's Homes
Included in the grand prize package Yost will take home are the world's only 1,000-plus horsepower 2017 Challenger "HellScat" and a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, plus $45,000 towards the prize taxes!
Mr. Yost made a donation to enter the Challenger Dream Giveaway on December 28, 2017. Little did he know that his generous donation would not only impact the life of others but it would end up impacting his life as well! "Knowing that when I made a donation I was helping some great causes is the real reason I have been a dedicated donor to the Dream Giveaway promotions for several years now," he said.
On Monday, July 16, 2018, he received the news via telephone that he had won the Challenger Dream Giveaway. "When I first got the call, I was totally shocked,"he said. "When [drag-racing legend] Don Garlits got on the call and told me I had won, I just couldn't believe it."
Mr. Yost, who has had a passion for cars all his life, said he has been building cars before he could even drive. He considers himself to be a "Mopar or No Car" kind of guy and is excited for the opportunity to meet "Big Daddy" Don Garlits at the Challenger Dream Giveaway award ceremony.
Mr. Yost worked for Lockheed Martin for 30 years before retiring a few years ago. It will come as no surprise that in his free time he enjoys working on cars.
Dream Giveaway will fly Mr. Yost to the Dream Giveaway Garage in Clearwater, Florida, to attend the Challenger Dream Giveaway award ceremony on August 8, 2018. Celebrity guest "Big Daddy" Don Garlits will be there to hand Mr. Yost the keys to both Challengers. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Facebook and available for viewing on YouTube. The public and media are invited to attend.
