By: Winter Park Distilling Company, LLC
The Winter Park Distilling Company is the first distillery in Florida to win awards for the bourbon category in any competition. The prestigious SFWSC awards come mere months after the distillery's Bear Gully Classic Reserve medaled at the 2018 New York International Spirits Competition and on the heels of back-to-back years medaling at the American Craft Spirits Awards and the Berlin International Spirits Competition.
Andrew Asher and Paul Twyford, Co-Founders of the Winter Park Distilling Company are excited and gratified about the recognition their bourbons are receiving. Twyford noted, "The judges from the SFWSC are some of the most highly-esteemed in the world. Having their blessing and recognition for the quality of our work is really something that cannot be overstated."
Established in 2010, the Winter Park Distilling Company is one-half of the Brewstillery on Orange Avenue in Winter Park, Florida, and adjoins the Bear and Peacock Brewery (also owned by Paul Twyford and Andrew Asher). The Brewstillery is Florida's first combination craft brewery and craft distillery complex. The Winter Park Distilling Company is the first genuine distillery in Orange County, Florida (and Greater Orlando) and the first distillery to produce bourbon from the State of Florida. The distillery handcrafts local Bear Gully Classic ReserveTM bourbon whiskey, Bear Gully Classic BonfireTM bourbon whiskey, GeniusTM vodka, Dog IslandTM rum and Bear Gully ClassicTM "New Make" whiskey in the heart of Winter Park, Florida.
