HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - July 26, 2018 - PRLog -- The crowd-pleasing screwball comedy meets slasher spoof GARDEN PARTY MASSACRE added a slew of new accolades to its pedigree, courtesy of this year's this Southern Sykos Horror Film Festival judges. The film took over a dozen awards, including nods for the cast, crew and the highest honor "Best Director of the Year" went to Blair.
"I'm truly astonished at the bevy of nods," Blair admits. "Every time I make a film I wonder if it's going to turn out any good. So, I'm always pleased when anyone likes it. And I'm even more pleased when people love it and find it worthy of laudation. It makes me feel like I did something right. We've won a nice chunk of awards so far, but no festival has heaped so many on us like the Southern Sykos Horror Film Festival. It's staggering, really. But wonderful. I feel incredibly fortunate that I had so many talented people to help me make the film what it is. We share all these awards, because no one acts alone in filmmaking."
GARDEN PARTY MASSCARE is Blair's follow-up to his much-lauded DEADLY REVISIONS and is a fast-paced, wacky spoof in the vein of Shaun of the Dead and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. The fun begins when a friendly backyard gathering goes hilariously awry as an unexpected guest arrives. With a pickaxe. And an attitude. It's a screwball brew of murder, mirth and mayhem that made top ten lists for 2017 and that critics have hailed "Hilarious!", "Brilliant!" and "A Comedic Romp!" (Search My Trash Filmsite, The Movie Sleuth and Geek Nerdery, respectively).
In addition to Blair's "Best Director of the Year" award, the film racked up over a dozen awards, including "Best Massacre Feature", "Best Direction: Horror", "Best Camera Work", "Best Special Effects", "Most Admirable Cast Performance" and more.
