Agency on Aging Northeastern Illinois Preparing to Welcome Thousands to Senior Lifestyle Expo

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. - July 25, 2018 - PRLog -- The Agency on Aging Northeastern Illinois is preparing to welcome thousands of older adults to the Senior Lifestyle Expo at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. The event will be held on August 21st and August 22nd from 9 AM to 2 PM each day. In its 23rd year, the Senior Lifestyle Expo, the largest senior expo in the Chicagoland area, continues to bring seniors together with the products and services that are invaluable to maintaining their quality of life. This year's event is sponsored by AARP, ComEd, Senior News 50 and Better, and Seniors BlueBook.

The 2018 Expo will feature a balance between fun and education over the two day event. The expo hall will feature over 100 exhibitors including senior living communities, legal services, home repair services, entertainment providers, health providers, and more! Another big attraction includes the Health & Wellness aisle in the exhibit hall that will feature free health screenings, free Flu, Pneumonia and Shingles shots, hearing aid education, bone density screenings, and much more. There will also be educational seminars throughout the two day event on a range of different topics including reverse mortgage, Medicare and retirement, Alzheimer's disease, AARP and more.

Along with the educational seminars and expo, there will be two days of non-stop entertainment! The main stage entertainment will include two musical acts including Sweet Reminder and Ron & Sandie, a presentation of the "History of Chicago Candy Companies", and a candy making demonstration from the Chopping Block. This year will also feature Senior Idol and a Writing Challenge. The Senior Idol competition features talented adults 60 and older who sing, dance and entertain their way to win praise from the audience and cash prizes. There will also be a Game Show Challenge and Mary Kay Mini Makeovers going on throughout the two days.

"The Senior Lifestyle Expo (http://www.seniorlifestyleexpo.org/) is a great event because it combines education for seniors with lots of fun over the two day event" said Kaitie Mayberry Hauser, Special Events Manager for the Agency on Aging Northeastern Illinois. "Older adults can come to the expo and have a great time while learning about the products and services that will help make aging easier and the best years of their life."
