        Doug Vinson grew up in Athens, Ga. and earned an undergraduate and master's degree from the University of Georgia (making him a Double Dawg).

        He worked for more than 30 years in journalism and public relations. Along with teaching, his real love is (and always has been) feature writing. Doug enjoys connecting with people and even those he's just met somehow want to tell him "their story."

        Growing up in the shadow of the university, he got to know a host of intriguing characters - just the types you'd expect to find in a college town. Through the years, he's enjoyed reminiscing with other alums and watched folks light up as they share memories of their delightful days on campus.

        Doug and June (wife turned co-author) have been happily married for 38 years and have collaborated on a number of writing projects including a well-received play, "A Redneck Opera." The couple lives in the south Atlanta area and have two grown children.
