TBT and Atlanta's Parks and Recreation partner to provide Anderson Park a gymnasium overhaul
As part of the 'Day of Giving', Anderson Park, in Northwest Atlanta, will receive much-needed renovation work. The recreation center, which services hundreds of youth, will receive an overhaul of its gymnasium including a new electronic scoreboard, six new baskets, new shot clock, and improved lightning. The recreation's computer lab will also be upgraded.
"The City of Atlanta has been extremely supportive of TBT," said Jon Mugar, TBT Founder and CEO. "We are excited to deliver twelve of the highest level, intense and compelling basketball games in the world this summer to Georgia State starting July 26, more importantly, we are happy to invest back into the local community. Having an updated sports facility for children to enjoy and be safe is paramount."
Atlanta resident and NBA veteran Kent Bazemorewill serve as the honorary host for the Super 16 round. Residents will have the opportunity to serve their communities alongside Bazemore and former NBA stars on the 'Day of Giving.'
"Giving back to the Atlanta area is extremely important to me," says Bazemore. "What better way to enjoy a favorite pastime while investing in young people to reach their full potential."
The 'Day of Giving' is Wednesday, July 25, 10 a.m. at Anderson Park, 120 Anderson NW, Atlanta. It will include the Fulton County Mobile HIV testing unit, the Fulton Fresh Mobile, and enjoyment for the entire family.
