Passion Packed Bindaas BITSians Conquer Maharashtra Cultural Capital Pune Society with their Music

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent and the genesis as well as progress of Bindaas BITSians will vouch for the fact that in Music Passions indeed enjoy themselves.
PUNE, India - July 15, 2018 - PRLog -- The Birla Institute of Technology and Science ( BITS ), Pilani Rajasthan has always provided over decades through a host of clubs clubs - Music, Hindi Drama, English Drama etc and all wholly and solely managed by the students of the Institute who call themselves "Proud to be BITSians", an atmosphere that nurtures techies & whiz kids who are encouraged to do What they Believe in unlike many other campuses producing sleep walking zombies.

The underlying culture of "Bindaas BITSians", as the name suggests, is "Bindaasgiri". This idea stems from the strong intent of this group to recreate that prevalent culture of "Bindassgiri" on campus during each BITSians duration during his / her times irrespective of the positions reached by each in their respective corporate or professional spaces. Unlimited fun and entertainment is the eternal mood of this group. Even the classifications of members has a lighter side; Taansens (the singers, who sing, mostly Bollywood songs, with some English and some regional songs too), Kaansens (the happy listeners, who provide critical feedback) and some Maunsens, who are just happy to be around music.

"Bindaas BITSians" (BBs), a universal group of musically enriched group of BITSian alumni was formed by seven founding members post the BITSAA Global Meet BGM at Dubai in January 2017. As a homogeneous group cutting across all batches and even ex-faculty, the sole intent of the group is to encourage creativity in all forms of art and promote the unbounded talent of BITS Alumni spread across the globe and present them to the global BITSian World.

With its humble beginning in January, 2017, the first get-together of "Bindaas BITSians" (BBs), a homogeneous of musically inclined BITS alumni gathered together at Lonavala, near Mumbai, Maharashtra in June 2017 to showcase the same musical talents they prided themselves in while they were on campus during their respective times. About 50 BITSians from batches ranging from 1962 to 1980 got together for around 48 hours and sang and sang and sang – at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and in-between.  The event, aptly named Bindaas BITSian Bash (BBB), was a roaring hit.

As more members enrolled as the word spread, a second BBB became apparent. Expectedly, it was convened on 24 February, 2018 at Delhi. A new element was introduced in BBB at Delhi.  The oldest among alumni associations, BITS Alumni Association BITSAA, Delhi for its Diamond Jubilee Celebrations proposed a musical evening for its Delhi members, and the USI Auditorium New Delhi as the venue, with a capacity of 300, was sold out.  BBians performed with passion for BITSAA members and spouses and the event was a runaway success.  Another goal scored. There was simply no looking back for this group after BBB Delhi.

The next BBB had to be at the Oxford of the East, Pune which has a high reputation for its intrinsic connection with literature, art, music and  theater. Bindaas BITSians from all latitudes and longitudes descended at The Fern Hotels and Club at Amanora Township, Pune, Maharashtra for BBB-3 during 29 June – 1 July, 2018. A total of about 60 members (BITSians and spouses) savored the magic of music that simply continued to pour, once again, morning to late night, on each day of the event with BITSians from the batch of 1962 right up to graduating batch of 2010 performing the best of Bollywood music.

Although on a humbler scale that the Delhi event, local BITSAA members were invited to attend a musical evening on 30th June.  About 25 BITSians with their families attended and went back completely mesmerized with the quality and variety of music served to them. Yet another smash hit. While the audience slowly walked out with the feeling that Music is the moonlight in the gloomy night of life, for the Bindaas BITSians folks it was the culmination of their hard work, sleepless nights and hours of rehearsing to do this music show as the Night to Remember.

Relive the 30th June evening show by Bindaas BITSians by using the following playlist:

Here is an impromptu poem written by Ambuj Jain, post this event.

Bindaas Bitsians ki Mehafil ka program
Stressful life ke maare dosto ke liye ek bada aaraam,
2 din ki vishudh masti
Sehpadhiyo ke geeto ki ganga, man mai bharti ek anokhi sfurthi
Kutch hansee mazaak kutch anjaane cheharo se jaan pehchaan
Networking ka bhi ek anootha mukaam
Sukhad sapne sa yeh doh din ka mela
Or phir se iss duniya ki bheed mai man akela
Bas yahi ek umeed dil mai jagi rehti hai
Ki kutch hee maheeno ki baath hai phir se yeh Suro ki ganga behani hai

While the BBB saga continues and many BBs have returned to posting their music on the group, smaller groups of BB singers are scheduled to perform for the BITSAA, Ahmedabad members on the evening of 14 July 2018. Meanwhile, the stage is already set for BBB-4 that is likely to be scheduled at Goa in around Jan-Feb 2019. About "Bindaas BITSians": It has a very simple set-up; it functions over a WhatsApp Group where members post their self-performed singing performances or instrumental performances to world-wide BB community playing their own musical instruments as accompaniment or using karaoke tracks.  BB's only qualification for membership to the group is that the applicant needs to be a BITSian, alumni or student, from any of the campuses at Pilani, Dubai, Goa and Hyderabad.
