United Premier Soccer League 2018 Spring Season Conference Playoffs in the Spotlight this Weekend
Many UPSL Conferences Are Playing Knockout Round Postseason Tournaments
The Northeast Conference opens its first UPSL postseason with four games on Saturday, July 14, starting in Rochester (N.Y.)'s Marina Oak Stadium with American Conference No. 2-seed Junior Lone Star playing No. 3 NJ Teamsters FC at 4 p.m. ET, and No. 1 Rochester Super 9 Pro SC hosting No. 3 Screaming Eagles at 7 p.m. ET.
Safira FC is the No. 1 seed in the Patriot Division and hosts No. 4 Lincoln CF at 5 p.m. at Somerville (Mass.)'s Dilboy Stadium, while No. 2 Mass United FC plays No. 3 International SC at 7 p.m. ET at Dilboy Stadium. The American Division final will be played on Sunday, July 15, at Marina Oak Stadium, while the Patriot Division final will be on July 21. The Northeast Conference final will be played on July 28 at a site to be determined.
Lowcountry United FC (12-1-1) has clinched the Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic Division title with a single-table topping 27 points from 14 games. The club will play the Atlanta Caribbean Division winner (TBA) on Saturday, July 21 in Spartanburg (S.C.). The first Florida Central Division championship game is Saturday, July 14 at 7:30 ET at West Orange High School between GGS Academy and American SC. The winner plays the eventual Florida South Division champion. The Southeast Conference final date and location will be announced.
The four-team Central Conference bracket is set for Saturday, July 21, as South Division No. 1 Atletico Katy FC hosts Dallas Elite FC at 6 p.m. CT at Pasadena (Tex.)'s San Jacinto College, and North Division No. 1 Inocentes FC hosts South Division No. 2 Round Rock SC at 7:30 p.m. CT at Ft. Worth's Polytechic High School.
The Midwest Conference's four division winners will play a four-team playoff set for July 21-22 at Milwaukee Bavarian Soccer Club.
FC Boulder claimed the top spot in the Colorado Conference, which host a four-team playoff starting this Sunday, July 15. FCB hosts No. 4-seed NOCO FC at 6 p.m. at Lafayette (Colo.)'s Centaurus High School, and No. 2-seed Colorado Rush SC plays No. 3-seed Colorado Springs FC at 6:05 p.m. MT at Highlands Ranch (Colo.)'s Shea Stadium. The winners advance to the Colorado Conference championship game to be hosted by the higher-seeded team on July 22.
The Mountain Conference will crown its first champion as Idaho's Boise FC travels to play Utah's San Juan FC at 9 a.m. MT on Sunday, July 22. Game location will be announced.
The Southwest Conference final is this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. PT at Gilbert (Ariz.)'s Highland High School as Sporting AZ FC, fresh of their deep run in the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, takes on FC Grande, a first-year club from Las Cruces (N.M.).
Nevada Coyotes FC hosts JASA RWC in the Western Conference NorCal Division championship at tthe Sparks (Nev.)'s Golden Eagle Sports Complex at 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, July 14. The winner plays the SoCal Division winner on Aug. 4 or 5.
In the SoCal Division, California United FC 2 (13-0-0) and L.A. Wolves FC (9-2-1) earned byes to next weekend's semifinals. They'll play the winners of this weekend's Opening Round games as No. 4-seed La Maquina FC plays No. 5-seed Sporting San Fernando, and No. 3-seed Santa Ana Winds FC faces No. 6-seed L.A. Galaxy OC PSC. Both games are at 7 p.m. PT at Lake Forest (Calif.) Sports Park.
Each conference winner advances to the UPSL 2018 Spring Championships in Colorado on Aug. 10-12.
United Premier Soccer League
The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 200 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 300-plus teams targeted for 2018 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
