Yours Humanly Announces Two Recipients of its Children Have the Power to Empower Award

CONCORD, Calif. - July 13, 2018 - PRLog -- Yours Humanly, a Northern California-based nonprofit that provides underprivileged children in underserved communities access to quality education, has announced two new recipients of its quarterly Children Have the Power to Empower Award, which recognizes children for their outstanding acts of goodness. The award showcases "service to others" in a meaningful way and demonstrates to family, friends, and community that even children have the power to empower when they lend a helping hand and an open heart.

Second quarter 2018 award recipients are Xavier Stroud, Oakland, California, and Curt Fendley, Paris, Texas.

"We commend these young people for their compassion and hard work, and for being the kind of people who think of others before self," says Yours Humanly Founder & CEO Sunny Singh. "They are making a difference in the lives of others and we encourage them to continue to do what they can to ease life's journey for those who struggle."

Stroud is being recognized for preparing hot plates of food for homeless individuals in his community and serving them personally in the encampments. Moved by compassion as he daily encounters homeless encampments, he has chosen to treat people in need with respect and show them that he cares for their health and happiness. By reaching out to these individuals, Stroud is offering them not only a plate of hot food, but his friendship, as well.

Fendley is being recognized for the service to others he continues to perform through the organization he founded, Operation Empower, within the Boys and Girls Club of Paris, Texas. His extraordinary efforts and remarkable vision encourage other young people in his community to learn leadership and life skills, empowering them to make a positive impact on the Boys and Girls Club and make a difference in his entire community. Those he has influenced by modeling leadership and life skills now have high hopes and dreams for their own better, brighter futures.

Singh cites American author Richelle E. Goodrich, who wrote, Every sunrise is an invitation for us to arise and brighten someone's day.
