Red River Zoo Opens Modern Farming Exhibit

FARGO, N.D. - July 12, 2018 - PRLog -- The Red River Zoo has partnered with North Dakota Soybean Council,
North Dakota Corn Utilization Council, and NDSU Extension Soil Health
to create a dynamic new play space featuring modern agriculture.

Kids will learn about agriculture while climbing a giant soil health wall,
"driving" a life sized combine cab, and pumping fuel at a renewable fuel
station. The exhibit also includes a farmers workshop which highlights
the importance of family legacy in North Dakota farming.

The grand opening will open this Saturday from 10am-5pm during
Agriculture Adventure Day at the Zoo. Kids get in free for the event
which includes: ag-related activities for hands on learning, performances
by Penny and Pals, a free lunch by BBQ Bootcamp, and special zookeeper
chats.

The Zoo is open 10am until 7pm daily throughout the summer.

The Zoo features a series of outdoor exhibits with indoor viewing areas located throughout the zoo.  Recent expansions include a White Naped Crane and Pallas' Cat exhibit renovations in 2012, a state of the art North American River Otter exhibit which opened in 2013, a new Veterinary Center with a public viewing component which opened in 2015, and our new Children's Zoo Farm and Nature's Playland which opened in 2016.
