Lee Canyon Hosts Inaugural Youth Adventure Day Friday, July 20

LAS VEGAS - July 11, 2018 - PRLog -- Lee Canyon, Southern Nevada's premier winter and summer outdoor adventure destination, will host its first Youth Adventure DayFriday, July 20, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.Children ages six to 14 will hike, practice archery, play disc golf and make crafts while learning about the ways they can responsibly enjoy the great outdoors. Registration is $40 per child and is limited to the first 30 children, parents or guardians can register children online. Lunch will be provided; children with dietary restrictions are welcome to bring their own lunch.

Lee Canyon group leaders will kick off the day with a guided hike on the Bristlecone Trail, followed by a nine-hole game of disc golf, archery, an arts and crafts session, and wildlife identification. Kids will also learn about the "Leave No Trace" principles.

"The unique landscape around Lee Canyon and the cool mountain temperatures create an ideal setting for kids to unplug, explore the outdoors, and learn something new during a fun-filled day," said Jim Seely, Lee Canyon's marketing director. "This is our first summer hosting this event series, and our hope is that each adventurer's hands-on experiences will inspire a lifelong love for getting outdoors."

Check-in is at 8:30 a.m. in the base lodge area; children will be ready for pick-up at 3 p.m. Parents and guardians are welcome to stay in and around the resort during the day camp.

Temperatures at Lee Canyon are usually 20 degrees cooler than in the Las Vegas Valley. Parents are encouraged to have their children wear sturdy shoes and sun protection; a lightweight hooded jacket is also recommended.
