NEW YORK - July 10, 2018 - PRLog -- The most renowned browser has now integrated an ad blocker inside its Edge browser for Android and IOS. The company recently made the update available for its beta users, alongside an IOS test program. Microsoft plans to roll out the feature broadly to all the Edge users on both the mobile platforms soon. Moreover, it comes with the updated app so that there will be no need to download and install any separate add-ins.

The company has collaborated with Adblock Plus to build this functionality straight into the browser. Google also initiated with the ad blocking in Chrome for Android but it does not seem to be that effective as most of the ads aren't blocked on the majority of sites. Similarly, Mozilla Firefox for Android also includes a form of built-in ad blocking but that activates only when using the private tab session. Likewise, Samsung Android users can also install Adblock extensions to block ads in the Samsung browser.

To date, 5 million people and counting have downloaded Edge on Android, so it still has a way to go to catch up to 100 million installs. However, it is not clear how popular the browser is on IOS but it is to be noted that Microsoft released Edge for IOS and Android in previous year only and the company recently made it available for Android tablets and the iPad.
