Addiction Treatment Center Offers Outpatient Services
A new addiction treatment center is providing medication-assisted treatment.
ZTS provides outpatient services six days a week and specializes in medication-assisted treatment. The staff administers methadone, prescribes suboxone to patients and offers counseling services. Patients are required to submit to regular drug tests.
Zanesville only has two substance abuse treatment centers, according to the treatment locator from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The nearest methadone clinics are in Cleveland and Houston, Penn.
ZTS' program administrator stated that the clinic's ability to administer methadone sets it apart from other nearby programs.
According to Ohio's Department of Health, Muskingum County — where Zanesville is located — recorded 44 unintentional drug overdose deaths between 2012 and 2016.
A local healthcare representative stated that ZTS will help expand addiction treatment in the city and the county.
