PackSpec, Inc. Changes Their Name to Welch Packaging Detroit
By: Welch Packaging
Since the acquisition, Welch Packaging Detroit (PackSpec, Inc.) has benefitted from the strength of the Welch Packaging organization. Increasing the service area and product capabilities has led to increased growth. It is this teamwork and growth which spurred the name change. Now synonymous with quality, innovation, and great customer service, Welch Packaging is excited to officially bring the Welch name to Detroit. "We see incredible opportunities in the Detroit market and we are thrilled to expand the Welch brand in the area," said Scott Welch, founder of Welch Packaging.
Welch Packaging already had a long-standing history and name recognition throughout the Greater Detroit area. Welch owned and operated National Packaging in Rochester Hills and operated Kelb Packaging in Romulus before merging those businesses into Welch Toledo in 2009. Also, Welch American, the company's automotive specialist, sells a lot of business in Detroit, therefore, we are excited to officially re-enter the Detroit market as Welch Pkg. The name change gives us much better strategic alignment and consistent branding in a dynamic market.
Headquartered in Elkhart, IN, Welch Packaging has 11 regional manufacturing locations, 5 distribution centers in seven states throughout the Midwest, and over 1000 employees. Welch Packaging remains a cost effective producer of custom corrugated boxes and is dedicated to servicing the needs of local customers. Welch Packaging has never wavered from the core values upon which it was founded. Now, more than ever, Welch Packaging strives to make a difference in its customers' business, their associates' lives, and the communities where they work and live.
