CHANTILLY, Va. - July 3, 2018 - PRLog -- Propel Swim Academy celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon-cutting event on Tuesday, June 26th at 4:30 pm at their beautiful new facility located at 43160 Amberwood Plaza in South Riding, Virginia. Vanessa Wagner, Small Business & Entrepreneurship Manager for Loudoun Economic Development and Tony Howard, President and CEO of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce were in attendance to celebrate the opening of this new swim school in Loudoun County and to participate in the official ribbon cutting. The event was open to members of the community and families from the swim school. Light refreshments with a fish and sea theme and balloon animals were a big hit with families while they toured the school and participated in the free swim from 5-6pm. Propel Swim Academy added to the fun by raffling off free swim lessons and summer camp sessions during the event.

Linda Stewart, owner of Propel Swim Academy has been teaching swimming lessons since she was 16 years old and holds a Master's Degree in Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Stewart is extremely passionate about teaching children to swim, water safety, and the intersection of child development and swimming. She is committed to building a community of families who love to swim and who swim well together.

Linda stated, "Propel is a unique swim school. Not only because we are family operated, but because in addition to teaching kids, we are really concerned with their social, emotional, and cognitive development. These children are a blank canvas. I tell my staff to do something amazing with that canvas and create something they'll always remember." You could see the love these children felt for Linda and Nick just by their brief interactions with the kids.

Linda's son, Nick, is the Operations Manager of Propel Swim Academy. He has a degree in Accounting and previously owned a swim lesson company, Swim-2-U, in the Northern VA area. Nick is thrilled to partner with his Mom to create a swimming facility and business that develops young people and forms lasting relationships with generations of South Riding Families.

"I'm grateful for all of the families here – I get to see your kids grow as swimmers and as people. It really brings me joy every day to see them in here swimming and having fun in the pool," stated Nick.

Propel Swim Academy offers year-round, developmental swim lessons for swimmers of all ages and abilities from 3 months to adult. Their new facility located in South Riding, Virginia is comprised of three 90-degree water pools, which includes a full-size 25-yard pool that will provide a lifelong pathway of learning and accomplishment. Students will build strong, effective swimming techniques and an understanding of the essential components of personal survival and water safety. Propel Swim Academy features a highly effective skill and safety progression for each level while instilling confidence in a fun, safe, and positive atmosphere. They offer free family swim times, host community events, as well as, fun swim birthday parties and summer swim camps.

What sets Propel Swim Academy apart from the many other swim schools out there? Propel is the largest free-standing swim school in Loudoun County, and is the only stand-alone facility to house a full-size 25-yard pool in addition to their two 15-yard teaching pools. Each of their 3 pools has their own state-of-the-art Defender filtration system and UV purification system, which, along with their top of the line air handling system ensures a clean, healthy learning environment. They also keep the water and the air temperature warm so kids are not worried about how cold they are but instead focused on learning to swim. Their entire facility is designed to be family-friendly with 2 air-conditioned viewing rooms, family changing rooms and plenty of space for strollers! Propel Swim Academy does an evaluation of your child prior to starting lessons to make sure they are in the right class from the start. Swimming evaluations are complementary and can be scheduled online here:

Propel's systematized class curriculum consists of numerous skill and age-based levels that place children in a class perfectly tailored to both their developmental and swimming needs. Propel Swim Academy doesn't just teach young children how to swim, they also offer a Stroke School Program for competitive swimmers to enhance their stroke technique and gain strength.
