PORT TALBOT, Wales - July 3, 2018 - PRLog -- From instant heat, to precision cooking, to nice long showers; gas certainly has its advantages, and when compared to electric, coal or LPG, mains gas is still one of the most cost effective domestic fuels, but what about those properties which aren't connected?

To help more properties connect to gas for free or at little cost, Community Interest Company, Warm Wales are working with Wales & West Utilities on the Warm Home Assistance Scheme.

This grant scheme provides qualifying householders in Wales and the South West of England with gas connection grants. Warm Wales issue customers who qualify with a voucher which can be used against the cost of a new connection.

Since the scheme started in October 2009 more than 15,000 properties have received gas connection grants, and with the scheme set to run until at least 2021, thousands more properties look set to benefit.

To qualify for a mains gas connection grant, you would need to live in a privately owned or rented property that is in the Wales & West Utilities area, be in receipt of qualifying benefits, or be in fuel poverty, whereby a high percentage of disposable income is spent on household fuel.

If you want to find out if you qualify, contact Warm Wales for further help or information by calling 01656 747 622 or you apply online by visiting
