ANNAPOLIS, Md. - July 3, 2018 - PRLog -- The bright lights and big contracts for a professional athlete look attractive and are lucrative from afar but few people know what drives these athletes and the sacrifices made during their careers. There is so much more about their motivations and their real stories off the field, court, rink, track... it takes much more than talent, it takes a personal team, motivation and responsibility.

Many athletes have assembled impressive support staff and personal brand managers (Many have not...) to help them balance the riggers on and off the field of play they need help and guidance.

Jordan Clarkson (Cleveland Cavaliers, NBA) is a professional basketball player that has a lot to play for and his charity work off the court makes that clear.
In 2014 his father Mike was diagnosed with cancer, the struggle was successful and now Jordan is working hard to make a difference using more than his voice. Jordan's father and the fight he won has made a difference in his life.

Lace It Up (July 14th www.laceitupforcharity.org ) an annual basketball event/game has partnered with Jordan Clarkson's Foundation, JC Cares and Team Gleason and will raise money through the event to benefit the Cancer Society and the Mayo Clinic's Hope Lodge. The event was established by Sam Librizzi and Thomas Mastro last year and was very successful.

"We are all in this together to make a difference in other peoples lives.  We hope to raise $50,000 this year and every year for decades to come," says Jordan Clarkson

Team  Gleason will participate in this years event with JC Cares with Team Gleason that is working to raise awareness of ALS efforts that are centered more on aid to the families that need help dealing with family members that have ALS.
The event is working not only to raise money but to activate the community to learn more, do more and make a difference.

Mike Ladge, a financial advisor to Jordan Clarkson and many other top athletes and entertainers has watched the event take shape.

"I think everyone has the time to give back and as they get older they see why it's so important to take the time and use their celebrity to make a difference. Working with Jordan, it's clear. He wants everyone to know that they can make time, they can take the effort and he learned this from his parents."

Outside the lines Jordan and Lace It Up are poised to make a difference and his parents must be proud!
