Collective: The Community Created Card Game launches Alpha Test

PORTLAND, Ore. - July 3, 2018 - PRLog -- Everyone who's played a competitive card-battler has wanted to add their own cards to the game. In Collective, players can do just that. Cards are created using the in-game editor and submitted to the subreddit r/CollectiveCG. Each week the top 10 posts are added to the game.

The community has already created:

• Over 400 cards, each with art and mechanics designed by players
• Three in-depth articles by different players providing insight into the current meta tier list, and a statistical analysis of the ideal time of the week to post cards to garner upvotes
• Three proposals to radically alter the base game rules and voting system which have been incorporated by the developers
• Several collaborations between talented designers and artists to create cards as a team, which have been shown to have a higher rate of success than cards created by individuals
• Multiple political factions with stated design goals, such as the shadowy "Collective Spider Enthusiasts," who promote representation of spider cards

Odious Studios, a two-man indie studio based out of Portland, OR, believe they can take on the giants of the card-battler genre by being receptive to player feedback and ditching the predatory pack-based business model of their competitors. Cards are completely free. Instead, players can use free or paid currency to unlock access to the card editor, as well as Heroes: playable characters with unique powers that decks are built around.
