By: Martin County Healthy Start Coalition Since June, these twinkle-toed superstars have been polishing their fancy footwork and raising money for Martin County Healthy Start Coalition's biggest fundraising event of the year, set for Sept. 22 at the Lyric Theatre. This year's participants will have to "step up," since last year's dancers raised the "barre" and brought in a grand total of $143,000! Healthy Start, a local nonprofit, just celebrated 25 years of serving pregnant women and babies of Martin County. This year's dancers are: · Cheree Ramirez, business development specialist, Premier Private Jets, Stuart. Proud Mom to her mini-me, the pair are always putting on a show to entertain those around them and she says she loves to give back to our community. Ramirez lists involvement in numerous local nonprofit organizations. "My daughter is the reason for doing all that I do," she says. "She makes me want to continue to make a difference where we live." · Jaime Schwartz, Hobe Sound Realtor with Waterfront Properties and Club Communities. Schwartz is also involved with several nonprofits, including serving as a celebrity chef last year for Madison's Miracle, a support and resource organization for those grieving the loss of a baby. "I believe that with my connections in our community, as well as my professional relationships, I should be able to reach (my) goal. (#JoinJaime)" · Jennifer Jones, physical therapist with Oceanside Physical Therapy of Stuart, will be spicing things up with a little Latin flair when she performs. Between her devoted clients, co-workers and her fellow workout family at Hard Exercise Works, she believes she will have the support to reach her fundraising goal. "It will be a great experience while raising money for a great cause." · Mike Gonzalez, business development representative with fiberoptic company ITS Fiber, Indiantown, says he's been dancing since birth. He also tried his hand at stand-up comedy at age 25. "Even though I am very confident, I can't guarantee I will raise the most or dance the best, but I promise I can make a strong impact" on Healthy Start while having a good time. · Mike Renfro of Madoli Marketing has 34 years graphic arts experience and 54 years experience as a human being; that's first on his resume, his biggest selling feature. He has had the privilege of working with many amazing people and organizations since moving here in 1994. He says he plans on "dancing the h-ll out of (the show)" so he can prove he's "not all talk and bad jokes." · George Gozdz is a fishing guide and TV fishing show host. After eight years of hosting Reel Time Florida Sportsman in 2019, Gozdz will be hosting his own show called "Unfathomed." · Ann M. Rodriguezis the VP business banker with SunTrust Bank in Palm Beach/Treasure Coast market. The child of 10 always wanted to be a dancer, and is thrilled to be given the opportunity to be part of this year's Dancing with the Martin Stars show. The seven finalists, paired with professional dancers/instructors, will continue practicing their routines and raising money right up until show time in September. The dance instructors are: · Greg Delekta, owner/dance director, Fred Astaire dance studio, Stuart. Dancing with Jennifer Jones · Jill Bogacik, beginner specialist/event coordinator, Fred Astaire dance studio, Stuart. Dancing with Mike Gonzalez · Bob Murray, independent instructor. Dancing with Jaime Schwartz · Craig Galvin, owner, Craig's Dance Studio. Dancing with Cheree Rodriguez · Marianella Tobar, owner, Marianella's Dance Fusion. Dancing with George Gozdz · Dunsleys Valladares, dancer with Marianella's Dance Fusion. Dancing with Ann Rodriguez · Megan Acosta, private instructor.
