ACEC/MA announces BR+A as a 2018 winner of Silver Engineering Excellence Award
The 2018 Engineering Excellence Awards were announced at the recent ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala with emcees Beth J. Larkin, PE, MBTA Assistant General Manager for Capital Delivery and Housamm ("Sam") H. Sleiman, PE, CCM, MassPort Director of Capital Programs & Environmental Affairs.
BR+A, with offices in Boston, was retained by Southeast Louisiana Veterans Care System to assist in the design of a critical care facility for veterans; the goal was to have the capability to remain fully operational for five days upon the complete incapacitation of public utilities, while maintaining thermal comfort for patients and registering 30% more energy efficient than code requires.
