ACEC/MA announce AECOM as a 2018 winner of Silver Engineering Excellence Award
The 2018 Engineering Excellence Awards were announced at the recent ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala with emcees Beth J. Larkin, PE, MBTA Assistant General Manager for Capital Delivery and Housamm ("Sam") H. Sleiman, PE, CCM, MassPort Director of Capital Programs & Environmental Affairs.
AECOM, with offices in Boston and throughout Massachusetts, was retained by MassDOT to act as a technical lead when the 138-mile Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90), which runs from the New York State border to Boston, was being converted from a ticket and barrier toll system into an All Electronic Tolling (AET) system. The conversion to AET was achieved on the Go-Live date of October 28, 2016, followed by the simultaneous demolition of 22 legacy toll plazas.
