Small Business Class Starts July 9 in Lee County

FORT MYERS, Fla. - June 28, 2018 - PRLog -- Individuals who are thinking about starting their own business are invited to apply to the Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida MicroEnterprise Institute, which has classes scheduled to begin July 9 in Lee County.

The MicroEnterprise Institute is a six-week training course to help emerging entrepreneurs start new ventures and grow small businesses. Graduates complete a business plan and management training course and work with mentors who are successful businesspeople.

Classes will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. at Keiser University, 9100 Forum Corporate Parkway.

MicroEnterprise participants will hear from subject matter experts in the areas of accounting, legal, marketing, insurance and funding, according to Sandra Plazas, Goodwill's Community Education Manager.

"I have learned so much from the outside speakers in every topic. I am grateful for all the resources that are provided to us and brought to our attention," said Alexis Flammia, a MicroEnterprise graduate.

More than 600 people have completed the course. Dozens of businesses have either been started or have grown as a result, Plazas added.
