Drug Addiction Recovery Center in Provo Celebrates First Anniversary
A unique drug addiction recovery center located in Provo, Utah is about to celebrate its first anniversary.
Building Beginnings was founded by five men who have been going through recovery themselves. They had been working together and going to an addiction treatment program together when they noticed that peer support was very valuable to their own journeys to recovery.
The men then decided that they could do something to help more people who were going through similar situations and opened the facility last July.
The center provides a series of resources to those looking to recover and features a team of professionals who focus on helping each patient reach a point of self-sufficiency and independence.
Patients are trained to learn different skills while the staff members arrange employment opportunities and transportation for them. They are offered free housing for a week and after that, the people in recovery start paying for their accommodations and other expenses.
Outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment programs that are affordable to the residents are offered by the center. Housing costs are $100 a week.
Building Beginnings helped more than 600 individuals recover in less than a year but path the to help all of these people has not always been a smooth one.
Representatives of the center stated that in many occasions they did not think they would be able to maintain the business active for reasons related to federal taxes and overall financial stability.
The recovery center has been able to partner with other Utah-based organizations and form subcontracts to keep the business self-sustainable.
Donations also helped the team restore their faith and keep the company going.
The drug addiction recovery center currently has more than 130 employees and it is expected to continue growing.
