Discover Scotland's Long Island with Airds Hotel's new Lismore Tour Package
By: Airds Hotel
Airds Hotel & Restaurant has launched a new 2-night package including a discovery tour of the beautiful island of Lismore (population 180). Local host, Robert, meets and greets guests from the Port Appin foot-passenger ferry and takes them on a 2-hour Land Rover tour of the island explaining the history, flora and fauna.
The Lismore Tour Package is priced at £383* per person for 2 nights in a classic room (based on 2 sharing ½-board) and includes the tour and a flask of tea/coffee with a hamper of home-baked treats made by his partner.
From Airds Hotel & Restaurant it's only a short walk to the foot-passenger ferry terminal at Port Appin, and 5 minutes across the water to Lismore. Step off the ferry, and into a different world of island peace and escapism. Lismore in Gaelic (Lios-mor) means 'great garden'. The low-lying island is fertile and unspoiled, with stunning mountain scenery on all sides, from Ben Nevis to the hills of Mull and Morvern to the west. There's plenty of history to discover: anIron Age Broch, a Norse stronghold, castle ruins and Saint Moluag's church, which used to be a cathedral when Lismore was the seat of the Bishops of Argyll. The Gaelic Heritage Museum is a great introduction.
Airds Hotel & Restaurant is one of the leading culinary destination hotels on the west coast of Scotland. The beautiful setting looking out over Loch Linnhe makes Airds a lovely year-round retreat. In addition to the Lismore Tour, the surrounding area is a perfect playground for hill walks and leisurely bike rides on scenic loch-side trails. Alternatively visit for a large dose of R&R: indulge in exceptional meals in the award-winning dining room (upgrade to Airds' Seasonal 7-course Tasting menu for a supplement of £19.50 per person).
*The price is valid up to the end of October, reducing to £348 pp in November and December. The price also includes VAT, is subject to availability and not available in conjunction with any other offer.
