Western Nevada's Coyotes Soccer Team Announces New Head Coach and Management Team Changes

CARSON CITY, Nev. - June 25, 2018 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League's (UPSL) Western Nevada Coyotes soccer team today announced major changes to its management team after finishing in first place in the Wild West Division of the UPSL Western Conference and having spent five weeks as the #1 ranked team in the national Pyramid Power Rankings.

The Coyotes' new Head Coach is Christian Patiño, a former player in Mexico's premier league, having played for Club América, Club León, Celaya FC, and two selections to the Mexican national team. Patiño scored 72 goals in professional play, including a goal against Manchester United while playing for Club América in a friendly match, and a goal in a title-winning Club América game in Mexico City's famed Estadio Azteca.

Patiño, 42, will join Assistant Coach Joe Lillie, Director of Operations Will Bumgardner, Recruitment Director Jeff Valentine, Counseling Advisor Otto Kelly, Finance Director Amira Drori, Foreign Player Agent David Segun Blessing, and other existing personnel that have lead the team to a winning Spring season.

"I'm so happy to be able to help this team make a run for the national championship after an undefeated season," Patiño said. "These players have so much talent and have worked very hard to get to this point, they deserve the best chance to win the championship," he added.

The team also announced the appointment of Art Castañares as the team's President, and Dr. Fred Simon as the team's Vice-President and Medical Director. Both Mr. Castañares and Dr. Simon have been major sponsors of the team since its inception in December 2016.

"The team has grown from a start-up just 18 months ago into the top ranked team in the country," Castañares said. "We thank the communities of Western Nevada for embracing the team and supporting us as we developed into champions of our conference, and, hopefully, winners of a national trophy," he added.

The team recently removed Ian Hill as Head Coach, General Manager, and partner. Mr. Hill was removed by a unanimous vote of the players for violating the team's code of conduct. Mr. Hill will not be involved with the team in the future.

"We made immediate changes to correct major problems within the management of the team, and are moving forward with a renewed commitment to the community," Dr. Simon commented. "We will work to resolve any outstanding team issues left behind by Mr. Hill."

The team will now be known as the Nevada Coyotes FC, and is comprised of several local players, as well as players from throughout the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, England, Greece, Tanzania, Scotland, Australia, Gambia, and Kazakhstan.

The Coyotes were previously sponsored by Western Nevada FC, LLC, a company owned by Mr. Hill.

The team will now be sponsored by Nevada Coyotes FC, an ownership group headed by Mr. Castañares and Dr. Simon.

Team sponsors include Manzana Energy, Under Armour, Kristopher's Ristorante, Apartment Genie, ABC Roofing, OneLife America Insurance, Fitness for $10, and La Prensa Nevada newspaper.
