Black Hollywood Couple Aim To Win Three 2018 Emmy Nominations
Meet Actor Melvin Jackson Jr. and wife, Actress Kelly M. Jenrette

Jenrette is being considered for an Emmy for her Guest Star role, as Annie, on The Handmaid's Tale, Season 2, Episode 4. A nomination for Kelly and Melvin, each, in the same year would be historic. Likewise, a nomination for Melvin in either of his categories would be landmark.

ABOUT Kelly M. Jenrette - a decorated actress being considered for her role as Annie in HULU's The Handmaid's Tale and has been seen as a recurring guest star on HBO's Here and Now, a series regular on the FOX comedy, Grandfathered, starring John Stamos. She's had recurring guest star roles on Pitch (FOX) and Graves (EPIX). Her talents extend onto the stage in the nominated musical, The Color Purple. It earned Kelly an individual Ovation Nomination for best-featured actress as Nettie. Atlanta is her hometown.
ABOUT Melvin Jackson Jr. - Jackson secured a reenactment role on "America's Most Wanted" with only natural talent. After auditioning 14 times, Melvin won over the producers and landed the role of Bernard on HBO's "The Wire."Separately, he portrayed the role of The Bully on CW's Award-Winning "Everybody Hates Chris." He has balanced out some of his dramatic roles with stand up comedy. His recurring role on "Everybody Hates Chris" further highlighted his acting talents. Starring roles and the opportunity to direct and star in a police drama, followed. One of which he co-starred in Disney's "Step Up" alongside Channing Tatum. He recently portrayed the legendary rapper Kurtis Blow in the NAACP award-winning BET's miniseries "The New Edition Story." Melvin advocates for depression and suicide prevention since his father's suicide in 2014. Kelly and Melvin reside in Los Angeles.
