By: Hope-Hill Elementary Foundation "The 2018 O4W5K was our best yet with $70K raised for Hope-Hill, providing the Foundation with the majority of our funding for the year," said Shannon Makaila, Hope-Hill Elementary Foundation board member and O4W5K co-chair. "As a result of this year's race efforts, we will be able to implement a school-wide literacy program, providing both remedial and advanced tracks for students. In addition, we will give $10K plus in teacher grants, since they know how to best reach their students." The O4W5K is the only road race run entirely through the trendiest neighborhood in Atlanta and is a Peachtree Qualifier / USATF Certified race. The 2018 course included new and old landmarks, such as Ponce City Market and the Martin Luther King Jr. historic district. The Hope-Hill Elementary Foundation is a section 501(c)(3) organization exclusively supporting Hope-Hill Elementary School, the traditional public school serving the children of the Old Fourth Ward. Hope-Hill educates more than 430 students from pre-K through 5th grade. For more details about the race, visit www.O4W5K.com. For information about Hope-Hill, visit www.hopehillfoundation.org.
